Can anyone tell me the value of this relief bronze sculpture ?
I was wondering if anyone can tell me about this sculptured high relief (bronze), Le Triomphe de 1810 (The Triumph of 1810) executed by Jean-Pierre Cortot depicts Napoléon - I got this relief sculpture from my grandfather, has been with me since 1960. The scene illustrates the year 1810, the date of the apogee of Napoléon's reign, his marriage to Marie-Louise of Austria to assure the future of the dynasty, and conquests which expanded the Empire to the maximum. It's seems to me this sculpture (10"x13") has been cut or removed from wall or monument. Can anyone tell if this is a possible collectors item or I just have a fifty dollar bronze metal on my hand.

actually Jean-Pierre Cortot was a well known sculptor and if it is real and not a copy it will be considerably more than $50 worth. What you have seems to be a small version of what's on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris (see link). It's probably not outrageously valuable either, but at a very rough guess it could be in the couple of $1000s range. If you want to sell it I would get it professionally appraised.
