Can I put a coat of polyurethane over a vinyl sticker on wood?

So I'm making a beer pong table and I'm tryin to use vinyl sticker to make cup location and one in the middle for decoration. Can I apply my polyurethane coat over the wood as well as the vinyl sticker or should I put the sticker on after I apply the coat? Thanks!

Polyurethane will cover and protect the sticker from damage caused by scuffing from the cups.
