You hear a lot of talk about mosaic tiles, bathroom tiles, tiles in general… There are loads on the market now, it’s not just the old smattering of sizes and a couple of colours. We are talking about thousands upon thousands styles of tiles. It is easy tonavigate the tile world if you can narrow down your search to a certain size. Even better if you decide on mosaic!
I am a big fan of mosaic and it isn't difficult to visualise your bathroom with its beauty .
You can't beat the attraction of mosaic tiles, bathroom stunners they are! You have a 10000 of options, but if you can further narrow down your search to sticking to just one of the materials from which they are made: glass, natural stone, or ceramic and porcelain then you can find one to fit quite easily. The mosaic that needs the most maintenance is the natural stone. It will need sealing with a recommended stone sealant such as Lithofin FZ Protective Impregnator, prior to fixing the tiles and after they are fixed .
Glass mosaic tiles are things of great beauty and the advantage of them is that they will not require any attention after they are up, however, they will as in the case of all materials of mosaic, need a grout sealer application to help keep the mould and limescale at bay!
There are some fantastic grouts in the shops now to help prevent the problems caused by mould discolouration, the appearance of which can be astonishingly quick and completely wreck the look of clean mosaic, when at the start it was pristine .
Weber excelled in creating a new grout formula to include an substance called “Mould Stop”. This will inhibit the growth of mould and keep the mosaics looking fresh and new for much, much longer! This simplification in elbow grease needed must surely be the clincher for a move towards mosaic, a a designer look for the bathroom, and any other room you choose.
