how do i paint a stripe down my wall?
I want t paint the wall that my bed is against light blue and paint a chocolate brown stripe down the middle of that wall. What is the best way to do it? and should i paint all four walls this blue color or can I only paint that one large wall? My other three walls right now are white.
Many designers are following the trend now, that you do NOT need to paint all 4 walls.... instead, you paint ONE wall, and its called an "Accent" wall.
To paint a stripe.... paint the whole wall the color that the majority of it will be. Allow this to dry thoroughly.... several days. Then, using a good quality paint tape, pressed firmly on the wall... you can outline where you want your stripe. If its only a few inches wide... then the tape will be a few inches apart... you will be painting between the tape.... so make sure to use a paintin tool small enough to fit. If the 'stripe' is going to be large.... like a foot or wider..... then you could use a roller.
Make sure you wait for the original coat to dry thoroughly tho, or else the tape, will pull the new paint off the wall.
